What are the NF Teacher Awards 2026?
The NF Teacher Awards 2026 is a National Finance initiative recognising the dedication and achievements of teachers and education professionals across Papua New Guinea.
It gives teachers and eligible education staff the chance to be acknowledged for their contribution to education, while also accessing exclusive National Finance benefits.
Running from 1 July to 30 September 2026, the program automatically enters eligible applicants who apply for a National Finance loan and complete a short submission.
As one of the most exciting teacher awards Papua New Guinea has seen, it celebrates excellence across multiple categories and offers substantial cash prizes to deserving winners.
How Much Can PNG Teachers Win?
The NF Teacher Awards 2026 gives you the chance to share in a total prize pool of K45,000. If you are a teacher or work in education, this is your opportunity to be recognised for the work you do every day.
Prize categories include:
- Inspirational Educator Award – K20,000
- Education Impact Award – K10,000
- Community Champion Award- K5,000
- Teacher Recognition Awards- 20 winners receive K500 each

Who Can Enter the Teacher Awards 2026?
The teacher awards competition is open to a broad range of professionals working within the government education sector.
Eligible entrants include:
- Primary school teachers
- Secondary school teachers
- High school teachers
- Department of Education staff
- DHERST staff
- Education administration staff
The awards are designed to recognise excellence wherever it occurs within the education system, not only inside the classroom.

How to Enter the NF Teacher Awards 2026?
Entering the NF Teacher Awards 2026 is simple and does not require a separate awards application.
To be eligible, you only need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Apply for a National Finance Loan
Submit a National Finance loan application during the campaign period: 1 July 2026 to 30 September 2026
Step 2: Answer the Entry Question
As part of your application, you will need to answer this question in 50 words or fewer: “Why do you believe you should be named the NF Inspirational Educator?”
This is your chance to briefly explain your dedication, achievements, and the impact you have made as an educator.
Step 3: Submit Your Application
Once your loan application and written response are completed and submitted, you will automatically be entered into the awards program.
You do not need to complete any additional award forms. There are:
- No nomination forms
- No separate awards application
- No lengthy submission process
The entry process has been kept easy so teachers and education staff across Papua New Guinea can take part without unnecessary hassle.

Teachers and education staff have two simple options for applying through National Finance.
Option 1: Apply Online Anywhere in PNG
You can complete your application online, which means you can apply from almost anywhere in Papua New Guinea.
This is a convenient option if you are not near one of National Finance’s branches, and it still gives you the chance to enter the NF Teacher Awards 2026.
Option 2: Visit a National Finance Branch
If you prefer to apply in person, you can also visit one of National Finance’s branches in key centres, including:
